Hey!
This week I remembered a technique I had seen on another blog but had not tried yet. It involves using plastic wrap as a tool to paint. I wasn't sure how the manicure would turn out, since I didn't use the exact colors the other person had used. The blog is called letthemhavepolish. It is one of the first nail blogs I discovered a couple of years ago when I first became interested in nails. For this manicure you will need a white polish, a jelly or translucent blue and purple polishes and a glitter overlay polish, you will also need plastic wrap and some aluminum foil.
I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy. I then did two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. Once that dried completely, I put drops of Sinful Colors Love Nails on a small sheet of aluminum foil and using a piece of scrunched up plastic wrap, I dipped the plastic wrap into the nail polish and then dabbed it onto the foil again to get rid of excess, so that only a small amount is left on the plastic wrap and then I pressed the plastic wrap onto my nail, as a stamp, lightly pressing onto the nail so that it is completely covered. I repeated this same process with another nail polish called Julep Bette. Once that was dry, I used Sei Bella Crystal Sands to add a little shimmer to it and I once that dried completely, I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

I like how abstract this looks! The mixture of the colors reminded me of cotton candy. I think it turned out this way because I used jelly like colors. I wonder how it would look with other types of colors layered on top. I did miss a couple of spots on my nails that were left white, but other than that, it turned out pretty good! Again, the most important part of this technique is making sure you pat off the excess amount of nail polish when you first dip the plastic wrap into it, because you only need a little bit, essentially like a stamp. I hope you enjoyed this look and I will see you next time!
