Color Block

Hello and happy Spring to you!!

I am so psyched to share with you this week's manicure. I was completely drawn to bright colors this time and I was SO happy with the end result. I will admit, I started out with one pattern and ended up with a completely different one, but I liked it better than what I was planning on doing. For this look you will need three colors of nail polish and striping tape.

I started with a base coat of OPI start to finish formaldehyde free formula. Then I did ONE coat (I emphasized this because that hardly ever happens, but with this polish it worked) of Julep Teri. Once that was dry, I placed a piece of striping tape diagonally on the nail and painted above the tape in Julep Margaret. Once that was completely dry, I placed another piece of tape so that it divides the block of color I just painted, diagonally in Julep Charlotte. The photos will make more sense, I promise. Once all was completely dry, I sealed it off with a fast drying top coat of INM out the door.

Finished!

When you're painting the very last section, just make sure not to go past the line where the first color starts. It's already divided, so just don't go into that color, you'll only be painting where the second color is. If you look closely, my pinky is different than the rest of my fingers because that is the original pattern I was going to do. After I had done the first diagonal line on the rest of my nails I realized that I didn't have enough space to do that design anymore, so I came up with what you see here, which I like even better. Super fun huh?! You can totally change this up by how you place the tape to make up new sections of color. I hope you enjoyed this look and I will see you next time!
