Blue Spaces

Hey!!

I have such a cute manicure for you today. I found this online through Pinterest. For this manicure, you will need a nude nail polish, a sapphire metallic nail polish, and a navy nail polish.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy maintenance. I then did two coats of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Birthday Suit. I then painted the left corner of the nail with China Glaze Want My Bawdy. I also did the right bottom corner with Revlon Color Stay Indigo. Once it was completely dry, I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of Poshe.

I really liked how simple this was and yet it is so FUN!! You just have to have a steady hand; I think it helps to move your hand that you are painting versus moving the brush, when you are painting the corners. I hope you enjoyed this look and I will see you next time!

Chrome Royalty Powder

Hey!!!

I am SO STOKED about this manicure! Have you heard about chrome manicures?? For Valentine's Day, my husband got me a royalty powder from WhatsUp Nails. It is a blue/purple chrome powder and I LOVE IT!! For this manicure you will need a black nail polish, a clear peel off base coat polish, and a chrome royalty powder.

I started off with a base coat of OPI nail envy maintenance. Then I did two coats of Revlon Color Stay Stiletto. Once that was completely dry, I used the chrome royalty powder by dipping my finger into the powder and rubbing it over the nails.

Revlon Color Stay Stiletto on the index finger and the rest have the chrome royalty powder on top

Finished!

I REALLY LOVE THIS!! <3 So, I totally did NOT know about the peel off base coat that is supposed to be go on after the powder is applied. I had to go order one online, I could not find one in any beauty store close to me. So this photo was taken right after applying the powder, nothing on top of it. So, you would continue with the peel off base coat and then apply a fast drying top coat. The peel off base coat makes it so that it keeps the chrome shine, because top coat alone will dull the shine of the chrome. Yeah. It's kind of a process, but look at that SHINE!! I hope you loved this one as much as I did and I will see you next time!

Love Letter

Hey!!

This week's mani was inspired by my sister in law and by another Instagram nail account. This nail account is called my.polished.life. This was the first time I tried newspaper nails and it was so easy! For this manicure you will need newspaper, alcohol swabs, red nail polish, white nail polish, black nail polish, a nail art brush and a tiny dotting tool.

I started off with a base coat of OPI nail envy maintenance. I then did two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. Then I grabbed a piece of newspaper that had lettering on it. I then opened up a packet of an alcohol swab and removed it from the packaging. I then took the newspaper and placed it over the nail and placed the swab on top of the newspaper while it was on the nail. I left it on the nail until it was completely wet, maybe 10 seconds. Then I removed the paper and it left lettering on the nail. I did this to all of my nails except for my ring fingernail. I then took my black nail polish, Revlon Color Stay Stiletto, and my nail art brush and drew on lines on my ring fingernail so that it looks like an envelope. I then used a red nail polish, L.A. Colors GEL Fierce and a tiny dotting tool to paint on a small heart on the envelope. Once that was completely dry, I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of Poshe.

This was so fun and so simple! I really liked doing this manicure. I hope you enjoyed this look and I will see you next time!

Red Horizon

Hello!!

This week I got my inspiration from another Instagram nail account called _miriilein. For this manicure you will need a red nail color, a white nail color, a gold nail color, some striping tape, some aluminum foil, a tiny dotting tool and tweezers.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy maintenance. I then did two coats of L.A. Colors GEL in Fierce. I then used a fast drying top coat on my middle and ring fingernails. I placed two pieces of striping tape, so that they would form an x on the middle of the nail. I then placed more pieces of striping tape so that they come down and out from the first two pieces of tape. I then painted over the tape in OPI Alpine Snow, except for the very bottom and top areas that formed a small triangle, which I painted in with a very small dotting tool and Orly Luxe. I then immediately removed the striping tape with tweezers. I then finished with a fast drying top coat of Poshe.

Finished!!

This was FUN! It was a little complicated placing the tape and painting the smaller areas, but other than that, pretty easy. I really like this gel nail polish. SO SHINY. I hope you liked this mani and I will see you next time!

Cheetah Print French Tip

Hello!

This manicure was another great idea found in a link, to an article, about nail art designs, specifically, doing a twist on the french tip. I decided on a cheetah print on the white french tip. For this manicure you will need a black nail color, a hot pink nail color, a white nail color, a nude nail color, dotting tools, striping tape and a small sheet of aluminum foil.

I started off with a base coat of OPI nail envy maintenance. I then did two coats of LA Colors GEL Vanilla Latte. Once that was dry, I then placed a single piece of striping tape, just a little above the tip of the nail, to mark where the white tip would be painted. I then painted the white tip with OPI Alpine Snow and carefully removed the striping tape right after painting. After waiting for that to dry, I then placed a couple drops of China Glaze Passion For Petals on the sheet of aluminum foil and use a medium sized dotting tool to place dots on top of the white tip. I then went back in with Revlon Color Stay Stiletto and a tiny dotting tool to paint on the outside part, surrounding the pink dot, so that it looks like a cheetah spot. I then went and added a few more spots of black surrounding the cheetah spots. Once everything was dry to the touch, I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of Poshe.

This was super cute! It had been a while since I had done the cheetah print and I had forgotten how cute it is. You can definitely play around with this and change up the colors to suit it to your liking. I hope you enjoyed this look and I will see you next time!

Double Hearts

Hello!!

I am super excited to share with you another awesome manicure. This week's inspiration came from another Instagram account called Nails By Cambria. This manicure requires NO nail art tools other than nail polish! For this manicure you will need a light purple nail polish, a deep berry nail polish and a pink foil nail polish.

I began with a base coat of OPI nail envy maintenance. I then did two, almost three, coats of Essie Nice is Nice. I then painted on the two "humps" of a heart, on the middle of the nail, with Sei Bella Crushed Berries. I then painted another two humps of a heart, starting just below the berry heart, with Sinful Colors Hush Money. Once it was completely dry, I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of Poshe.

Valentine Marbles

Hello!!

I am so excited to share with you another manicure! This week I was looking at a nail art Instagram account and I saw a water marble manicure from Sveta Sanders. She is very, very popular, has about 1 million followers! Anyway, it had been a really long time since I had tried the water marble technique and I went ahead and gave it another shot. For this manicure you will need a disposable plastic cup filled with water, a white nail polish, a pink nail polish, a light pink nail polish, a rosegold glitter nail polish, a toothpick and lots of acetone and cotton pads for clean up.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy maintenance. I then did two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. I then created a bullseye of nail polish colors, on the water, in the plastic cup, alternating between the four colors of nail polish. I then used my toothpick to create a spiderweb pattern. You can see this online through YouTube videos. I couldn't photograph it, since I couldn't let the nail polish sit on the water too long. I had to pick a spot where I liked the design and place my nail on it and completely immerse my finger in the water and then remove the remaining nail polish with a toothpick. Once I dipped all my fingernails into the water and achieved the desired look, I cleaned off the remaining nail polish on my fingers with acetone and a cotton pad and then carefully removing it around the cuticles with an angled brush and acetone. I finished off my manicure with a fast drying top coat of Poshe.

Bullseye of nail colors: OPI Alpine Snow, China Glaze Passion For Petals, Whim Blush and Bows, Shade Metallic Rose Gold

Finished!

This was really fun, but also very time consuming. I would recommend using the same brand of nail polish for all colors you use. The nail polish tends to separate at different speeds because the formulas are different, so that made it a little difficult to create the bullseye. I also had trouble creating the exact pattern I wanted, or having the remaining nail polish cloud on top of my nail when I brought it up out of the water. So I would highly recommend using a new plastic cup and a new cup of water for every time you dip in your nail. I know that sounds crazy and maybe I just used the wrong type of disposable cup, because mine was a paper cup that was lined with some waxy stuff on the inside, try using a plain clear plastic disposable cup. It's also very messy and it gets all over your fingers unless you protect them with something, so just be prepared for all of that before you start this endeavor. I really do LOVE the end result. This color combo is really fun too. I hope you enjoyed this manicure and I will see you next time!

Iced Ombre

Hello!!

I have another beautiful manicure to show you! This week I really wanted to try an ombre with the new nail polish colors I just bought. For this manicure you will need a white nail polish, a light blue/mint nail polish, a lavender nail color, a white micro glitter/clear nail polish and a cosmetic sponge.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy maintenance. I then did two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. Once that was completely dry, I then painted a cosmetic sponge with two colors, China Glaze Tart-y For The Party and China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint and lightly patted it onto the nail, so that it was completely covered in both colors, with the purple at the base of the nail and the blue at the tip. I did that a couple times until I reached the desired look. When that was dry, I use Sei Bella Crystal Sands to paint over the entire nail, to give it a shimmer. I finished my manicure with a top coat of INM Out the Door.

Frozen

Hello!

This week's manicure was another idea I saw online, through a friend. I was way excited to try out a blue nail polish that I had gotten this past weekend and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. For this manicure you will need a dark blue metallic nail color, a white nail color, a white and silver chunky glitter nail color and a nail art brush.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy maintenance. I then did three coats of China Glaze Want My Bawdy. I then took a nail art brush and OPI Alpine Snow and painted three lines; starting from the left side of the nail and branching out to the right; the first going diagonally to the upper right, the second going straight across and the third going diagonally to the lower right. I then painted smaller fishtails on every straight line. That design was done only on my middle finger nail. I then took Whim Frosted Cupcake and painted over my ring fingernail a couple times, until it was fully covered in glitter. I did the same on my thumbs and finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

This was pretty simple and quite lovely, if I do say so myself. Ha ha. I am so in love with this blue; it's the perfect color for winter. I hope you enjoyed this look and I will see you next time!

Banners

Hello!

This week's manicure was inspired by another fellow nail artist online. Her Instagram account is called baby_mama_nails. She is currently doing a giveaway and is giving an extra entry to those who recreate one of her designs. So, I thought I would go ahead and try my hand at the following mani. For this manicure, you will need silver nail striping tape, a bright neon blue nail polish, a metallic pink nail polish and a nail art brush.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy maintenance. I then took two pieces of nail striping tape and placed them diagonally on the nail so that they would form a < shape. I then used Sinful Colors Love Nails and a nail art brush to fill in the middle space in between the  <. I went over it about two or three times until it was opaque. I then used Sinful Colors Hush Money to paint the top space above the piece of striping tape closest to the tip of the nail.  Once that was completely dry, I used INM Out the Door fast drying top coat to finish my manicure.

Striping Tape

Finished!

It did take me a little while to figure out the placement of the tape, but once that was in place, this went by pretty quickly. Using the nail art brush to paint the blue section made it a little easier, but at the same time I felt like I needed to go back and paint over the same section, multiple times, just because of how translucent this color is and how small the brush was. Overall, I like the finished look. If I were to do it again, I would pick a different color instead of the pink, just because it kind of takes away from the nude section. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this look and I will see you next time!

Stars

Hey there!

This past week I started with one idea in my head and ended up with something else. I originally thought of doing small snowflakes with a white and purple color scheme. I started painted on the snowflakes and then it reminded me of stars, specifically the north star. For this manicure you will need a white nail polish, a light purple/mauve nail polish, a silver nail polish and a nail art brush.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy maintenance. I then did two coats of OPI Alpine Snow on my pinky, middle and index fingernails. I followed with two coats of Essie Nice is Nice on my ring and thumbnails. I then used my nail art brush to finely paint on two small stars, diagonally placed on the nail, with Essie Nice is Nice on the white nails. I then used Icing Heavy Metal to paint on top of the purple stars, so that the purple still showed as an outline. I then used OPI Alpine Snow to paint on one large star in the middle of the nail on my purple nails. I went over that white star with Icing Heavy Metal, again so as to leave a white outline around the star. Once everything was completely dry, I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

Well, what do you think? I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. It was a nice exercise to practice my hand painting skill set. I wonder if I would have liked it better with a different color other than this purple. Still, it's cute. It was a little time consuming hand painting these stars, but, like I said, it was needed practice. Hope you enjoyed this one and I will see you next time!
