Heart of Gold

Hey!

I know it's still winter and it's still January, but I was so drawn to my coral nail polish this week that I automatically knew I wanted to do something Valentine's Day related. For this look you will need a coral polish, a white polish, a gold polish, a large dotting tool and a small dotting tool.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy. I then did two coats of Sei Bella Coral Fantasy on my pointer, middle and pinky fingernails. I painted my ring and thumb fingers with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. When my ring fingernail was dry I used Orly Luxe and a large dotting tool to place to dots in the center of the nail with a little space in between them. I then used the small dotting tool and a little bit of the same polish to connect the dots and form a heart shape. I did the same heart design on my thumbs. Once it was all dry, I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

This is so simple and yet it is the cutest thing ever! You could really change this by simply picking more contrasting colors. I hope you enjoyed this look and I will see you next time!

Tiffany

Hello!!

This week's manicure is inspired by the Tiffany jewelry company logo. For this look you will need a turquoise blue polish, a white polish, a silver polish and a very small dotting tool or a nail art brush.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy. I then did two coats of Sei Bella Robin's Egg Blue. Once that was dry, I used OPI Alpine Snow and a very small dotting tool to draw a horizontal line just above the tip of the nail and a vertical line on the left side of the nail so that the two lines meet at the bottom left hand corner. I then used Icing Heavy Metal to draw a bow where the two lines meet. Once it was all dry, I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

I noticed that the color of the polish looks different in the first three photos compared to the last and I have to say that the last photo is what it really looks like. If I owned a nail art brush, I would have used it to draw the lines and the bows. Another alternative to achieve this look and make it look cleaner,  is to use striping tape, but if you do it that way you need to start with painting your nails white and then painting over the tape with the blue polish and removing the tape afterwards. I hope you enjoyed this look and I will see you next time!

V Striped

Hello!

This week's manicure is another great, simple look. For this you will need a gray polish, a silver polish and some striping tape.

I started off with a base coat of OPI nail envy. I then did two coats of Icing Heavy Metal. Once that was completely dry, I placed two pieces of striping tape at the tip of the nail going diagonally to the left and two more pieces on the other side of the tip going to the right, so that visually it forms a V. I then painted over the entire nail with Sei Bella Purple Taupe. I then carefully removed the tape. Once it was all completely dry I finished I manicure with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

I really like the simplicity of this manicure. I realized after I had painted the second color over the first, that I should have done another coat of polish to even out the color. I guess that's the hardest part about doing manicure like this that involve layering nail polish. Still, I am pretty happy with the result. I hope you enjoyed this look and I will see you next time!

Three strikes

Hello!

Happy New Year! Hope your 2016 is off to a great start!

So the idea for this week's manicure came up as I was brushing my teeth late at night and I was looking at the knobs on my bathroom faucet. They had a bunch of horizontal lines on them,  going through a square shape. Anyway, this pattern is what gave me the idea for this manicure. For this manicure you will need a blue and silver nail polish and striping tape.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy. I then followed with two coats of Icing Heavy Metal. Once that was dry I place three pieces of striping tape horizontally, so that it only goes on half of the nail, or the three lines are on one side. I then painted over the striping tape with Sinful Colors Love Nails. I then carefully removed the striping tape. Once that was totally dry, I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

This manicure is so simple yet you can really make this eye catching by choosing very contrasting colors. I love this blue. It goes perfectly with this silver color. I hope you enjoyed this manicure and I will see you next time!
