Pyramid Print

Hey!!

Can you believe it's the very last day of the year?! What a great year it has been!! I am so pumped to share with you another great manicure. For this look you will need a white, gold and silver polish and striping tape.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy. I then painted my pinky fingernail with two coats of Orly Luxe. I used two coats of Sei Bella Stardust to paint my index fingernail. I painted my ring, middle and thumb fingernails with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. Once my ring and middle fingernails were completely dry, I placed three pieces of striping tape diagonally across the nail going left and then another three going right and then three more pieces horizontally so that you can see triangle shapes formed once all the tape is in place. I painted over my ring fingernail with the striping tape in place with Sei Bella Stardust and I painted over my middle fingernail with Orly Luxe. I then carefully removed all of the striping tape which reveals the pyramid print design. Once that dried, I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

Cool, right?! I really like this pattern! The only thing I had trouble with was getting some random fuzzies stuck on my nail when I took off my striping tape, which usually doesn't happen, but maybe it was just more noticeable because I used white polish. The placing of the tape is much easier when you do it in the order I did here. First the diagonal lines and then the horizontal lines. I tried doing it the other way and it was confusing. Well, I hope you enjoyed this look and I will see you next time! Happy New Years Eve!!

Candy Cane Accent

Hey!!

Merry Christmas! I hope you are having a wonderful time with your families and friends. This very festive manicure will put you in the mood for Christmas! You will need a red, white and gold nail polish and striping tape.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy. I then did two coats of Sei Bella crushed berries on my pinky and index fingernails. I painted my middle nail finger with two coats of Julep Sienna. My ring fingernail was painted with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. I followed the same pattern on my thumbnails as I did on my ring fingernails.

Once my ring fingernail was completely dry I placed two pieces of striping tape diagonally across the nail with a little space in between them. I then grabbed another two pieces of striping tape and placed them a little further away from the first two pieces of tape, so that it leaves a bigger space in between them. I did this three times. So, three groups of two pieces of tape placed diagonally and spaced apart so in the end you have three bigger spaces formed in between the thinner spaces. I painted the bigger spaces red with Sei Bella crushed berries and the thinner spaces with Julep sienna so that when I removed the striping tape it gave me thick and thin lines. The thin lines were gold and the thick lines were red, like you see on a candy cane. When it was all dry I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

Isn't that beautiful? So festive! So Jolly! Ha Ha! I will admit, painting in the spaces between the tape was a little tricky but it is doable! It would have been easier to just to do all one color over all of the tape. It still would have looked like a candy cane, but I wanted to incorporate the gold too. You can decide what works for you. Merry Christmas and I will see you next time!!

Christmas Tree

Hey!!

This week I saw a manicure online and I got the inspiration for what I came up with here. It started out one way and trial and error led me to this final design. I really like how it turned out. For this manicure you will need one sparkly purple nail polish, one white nail polish, striping tape and a toothpick.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy. I then did two coats of OPI Alpine Snow on my ring and thumb fingernails. I then did two coats of Julep Phia on the rest of my fingernails. Once my ring fingernail was completely dry, I placed two pieces of striping tape to form an upside V pattern and then used three more pieces of striping tape to divide the space in between the V so that it looks like a fan. I then painted in the spaces of the striping tape with Julep Phia, leaving the space outside of the V shape clean. Immediately after painting, I carefully removed the striping tape. Using a toothpick and the color Julep Phia I drew a star at the base of the nail, right above the cuticle, so that it looks like the star at the top of the Christmas tree. I did the same design on my thumbnails. Once everything was completely dry, I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

So pretty, right?! I really liked this look. I had the thought that this would be fun to do using Christmas colors like red or green in place of the sparkly purple. I would stick to using a sparkly polish though, since it makes it look that more festive. You could even make the star a gold color too. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this mani and I will see you next time!

Holly Berries

Hey!

This week I knew I wanted to do something Christmas themed. I immediately thought of holly berries and wanted to use holly berries as an accent. For this look you will need a white, gold, green and red nail polish colors and a dotting tool.

I started with a base coat of OPI nail envy. I then did two coats of Julep Savoy on my pinky, middle and thumb fingernails. I painted my pointer and ring fingernails with two coats of OPI Alpine Snow. Once that was dry, I used a small dotting tool and Sei Bella Crushed Berries to paint three dots on the upper right corner and bottom left corner of the nail. Then I used Julep Hoch to paint on the leaves to the left and right of the holly berries. Once everything was completely dry, I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

This manicure was pretty simple to do. Again, I wish I would of had a paint brush to actually paint on the leaves but for now it will do. I think making sure the dots aren't touching one another makes it look more like berries versus a flower. Anyway, sweet and simple. I hope you enjoyed this look and I will see you next time!

Asterisk

Hey!!

This week's manicure was made up all on my own. I thought of the colors first and then built a theme off of that. It reminds me of winter, snow and stars all in one. I named it asterisk because that's what the accents look like. For this manicure you will need a silver, white, blue, and glitter overlay polish, striping tape and a dotting tool.

I started out with a base coat of OPI nail envy. I then did two coats of Julep Margaret on my pinky, middle and thumbs. I painted my ring and pointer fingernails with two coats of Icing Heavy Metal. I painted over the Julep Margaret (blue polish)with one coat of Sei Bella Crystal Sands, which made it glittery. Once my ring finger was dry, I used four pieces of striping tape to make an asterisk design at the center of the nail. I then painted over the entire nail with OPI Alpine Snow and carefully removed the tape. Using a medium sized dotting tool and OPI Alpine Snow, I placed four dots in the center of my pointer fingernail so that it looks like a box. I then used a smaller dotting tool and the same color nail polish to make an asterisk design on the entire nail.  Once it was all dry, I finished my manicure with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

It took me forever to decide whether or not to make another design on the pointer fingernail or just leave it plain silver. I was so much happier once I added the dotted asterisk on top. I think it balances out the look. I hope you enjoyed this look and I will see you next time!
