Diagonal Glitter Accent

Hey!

This week I gravitated towards the color blue and paired it with a glitter of the same color. The only tool I used was nail striping tape. This look is very subtle, great for those who don't like much going on.

I started off with a base coat of OPI start to finish formaldehyde free formula. I then did two coats of Wet N Wild Megalast I Need a Refresh-Mint. Once dry, I applied nail striping tape in a diagonal, on the left hand the diagonal starts on the bottom left corner and on the right hand it starts on the bottom right. I then painted above the tape with Disturbed Potions Lemme Have Holo. Once completely dry, I sealed it off with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

Like I said, pretty simple. You could totally change up this manicure by using another color nail polish instead of a glitter. Then it would be more bold. I like how the glitter compliments the base color though. Anyway, hope you enjoyed it and I will see you next week!

Layered Lines

Hi!!

This week's mani is another very simple look that you can achieve with no tools! Those of you who like dark, bold manicures will appreciate this look. Don't know if you will notice in the photos, but my nails are shorter than they usually are. I suffered a nail break right before I gave myself this manicure. Goes to show that you don't need long nails to do nail art!

So I started like always with a base coat of OPI Start to Finish formaldehyde free formula. I then followed with two coats of Sei Bella Vintage Teal. Once dry, I went in with Sei Bella Stardust and made one vertical line starting at the base of the nail, right down the middle. Once that was dry, I made another vertical line right on top of that one with Oryl Liquid Vinyl. Once everything was completely dry, I sealed it off with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

Obviously, this look is very bold and dark. I originally wanted to use white instead of black in this look, but my white nail polish has bit the dust. So I would recommend using a lighter color instead of a dark one like I did, since the teal is already dark and is fighting attention. Still, it was a fun mani to try out and really easy!! Hope you enjoyed it and I will see you next week!

V French Tip

Hey there!

This week I decided once again to use a neutral color for my manicure. I paired it with a micro glitter polish and I was satisfied with how it turned out. This look doesn't require any tools, just nail polish and a steady hand.

I started with a base coat of OPI start to finish formaldehyde free formula. I then did two coats of OPI Passion. Once dry I used Julep Phia to do a V shaped french tip. I did this by making two diagonal lines across the tip of the nail, one starting at the left side and the other on the right so that they meet at the center and form a V. This might take a little practice and get a little messy as you will have lots of left over polish to clean off from your fingertips. To make it easier, you could use nail striping tape as a guide to make your diagonal lines. Just be sure your base color is very dry before applying tape. Once my tips were dry, I sealed it off with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door.

I love the simplicity of this look and how clean cut it looks. You can change this up by using whatever colors for the base and for the tip. You could even do a two layered tip by adding another color on top. Hope you enjoyed this manicure and I will see you next week!

Side Stripe

Hi again!

I hope the new year is going well for you! This week I really wanted to wear a nude color and luckily for me, I just got a brand new polish that I hadn't tried yet which happened to be nude. This color is so pretty on it's own, I wouldn't hesitate wearing it again. Of course, I had to add a little something to it though in order for it to be considered nail art. So I went with black. I love how simple this mani is, yet it is bold and eye catching.

I started off with a base coat of OPI start to finish formaldehyde free formula. I then followed with 2 coats of Sei Bella Vintage Mauve. Once dry, I used Orly Liquid Vinyl to make one vertical stripe on one side of the nail, for the left hand it was the far left side and for the right hand it was the far right side. Once completely dry, I sealed it off with a fast drying top coat of INM out the door.

Pretty cool, huh? Really, really simple but still bold! I think I am becoming a fan of simple manicures. Just make sure you have a steady hand when making the stripe. Well, hope you liked it and see you next time!

Dotted Half Moon

Happy New Year!! 2015 is going to be great!!

This week's manicure was thought up at the last minute. I really had no idea what I was going to do other than that I wanted something with gold and glitter because of New Years. This manicure used a textured glitter polish which I really liked. The only tool you need is a dotting tool. It is such a simple accent, but I really liked how this one turned out.

I started off with a base coat of OPI Start to Finish Formaldehyde Free formula. I then did two coats of Julep Glam Roc on my index, middle and pinky fingers and two coats of Julep Sienna on my ring fingers and thumbs. I then used a medium sized dotting tool to create a half moon shape at the base of the nail, about 4 or 5 dots when complete. When completely dry, I sealed off with a fast drying top coat of INM Out the Door on only my gold colored nails, since the other nails were painted with a textured polish and that doesn't require a top coat.

So, what do you think?? I really loved the simplicity of this accent and the combination of these colors. So pretty. Well, hope you have a great week! See you next time!
